Daughters in My Kingdom has really changed my perspective on how Heavenly Father views His daughters. We always hear we're children of God and that He loves us, but in reading this powerful book, I've discovered more of what that means. I'm only half way through, but every time I pick up this book I feel empowered and loved. I really enjoyed learning about the many women who were in Christ's life, and their influence in building His Kingdom in the primitive church. It's also been really neat to learn the history of Relief Society in this dispensation. What an amazing organization to be a part of! I'm so grateful to be a member of Relief Society! I'm grateful that my contributions are important and to learn that there is so much more I am capable of doing. I'm truly inspired. This book has really helped me feel valued--just like the Young Women program made me feel. I'm grateful to know my purpose as a daughter of God.
Thanks for sharing! The Relief Society can be such a strength and hearing stories from real women I find to be empowering.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had this experience! I was hoping to have a similar one while reading this book, and while I found it really interesting and gained a really good sense of the history of RS, it didn't really impact me strongly...probably more my fault than anything!
